We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher to join our team at The Francis Crick Institute Limited. As a Toolmaker in our Sex Chromosome Biology lab, you will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project that combines single-cell genomics, proteomics, and technology development to understand the underlying biology of dosage compensation and aneuploidy.
About the ProjectThis project offers a unique chance to work in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment, pushing the boundaries of technological innovation and gaining valuable insights into the fundamental questions of dosage compensation and aneuploidy. You will be working closely with our team of experts, including James Turner and Jerome Nicod, to develop and apply cutting-edge technologies to address these critical questions.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop novel tools and technologies for single-cell genomics and proteomics
- Apply these tools to investigate dosage compensation and aneuploidy in mammalian development
- Collaborate with our team to integrate data from multiple sources and develop new analytical approaches
- Contribute to the development of new research questions and hypotheses
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in biological science, a familiarity with next-generation sequencing and/or proteomics, and a keen interest in technology development. Experience in genetics and development is beneficial but not essential. The successful candidate will be a team player, able to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with our team of experts.
