Job Description for Carpenter at Sandmere Construction

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Sandmere Construction. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for preparing layouts, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Surveying building locations and levels.
  • Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Or equivalent experience.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience.
  • Permanent employment.
  • English as the primary language of work.
  • 35 to 40 hours per week.
