Job Title: Mechanical Systems Technician at Johnson Electric

The Mechanical Systems Technician is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient operations while adhering to Johnson Electric's Health & Safety Policies and Quality Management Systems. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S and Continuous Improvement, is essential. Key responsibilities include the installation, inspection, adjustment, and repair of machinery while following all safety protocols.

  • Interpreting technical diagrams and schematics to establish work procedures.
  • Installing stationary industrial machinery and mechanical systems according to design specifications using hand and power tools.
  • Utilizing hoisting and lifting equipment to position machinery and components during installation and maintenance.
  • Conducting inspections of machinery and equipment to identify any irregularities or malfunctions.
  • Making adjustments to machinery and repairing or replacing faulty components.
  • Operating machine tools, such as lathes and grinders, to manufacture necessary parts.
  • Performing cleaning, lubrication, and routine maintenance on machinery.
  • Building foundations for machinery installations.
  • Assembling machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand tools and welding apparatus.
  • Ensuring adherence to Quality Management Systems and Environmental Health and Safety standards.
  • Carrying out any additional assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Post-secondary education or Trade School Certification.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding techniques.
  • Ability to work indoors in a potentially noisy and temperature-variable environment.
  • Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting and climbing.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including days, afternoons, nights, or rotating schedules.
  • Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Readiness to work overtime as needed.

Skills:

  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
