Job Responsibilities

Position: Rapid Response
Location: City of Brampton
Employment Type: Full Time (temporary)
Work Schedule: Continental Days
Compensation: $18.50 per hour

The Rapid Response team will ensure a visible security presence at various municipal locations, including cultural venues and government facilities.

  • Monitor and report incidents of criminal behavior, suspicious activities, and safety hazards.
  • Manage access control by unlocking and securing premises.
  • Provide a consistent security presence across multiple locations.
  • Discourage and enforce regulations against loitering, smoking, and other prohibited activities.
  • Ensure all buildings are secured after operational hours.
  • Conduct patrols utilizing electronic guard tour systems.

Key Duties
  • Work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proactively conduct patrols and address policy violations while noting facility concerns.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports for emergencies and daily operations.
  • Respond to security alarms and emergencies promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor and authorize the entry and exit of personnel and visitors.
  • Effectively de-escalate crises and coordinate with emergency services.
  • Contribute to team objectives by achieving related results.
  • Perform key, radio, and pager audits.
  • Manage lost and found items and inquiries.
  • Report unsafe working conditions across departments.
  • Provide first aid and medical assistance as necessary.
  • Patrol both interior and exterior areas.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years of security experience.
  • Experience in a municipal or corporate security environment is advantageous.
  • Dispatch and mobile experience is a plus.
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Valid Security License for Ontario is required.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification is mandatory.
  • Valid Ontario G Class Driver's License is necessary.
  • Ability to provide a clean three-year driving record.
  • Physical demands include extensive walking and exposure to various weather conditions.
  • Proficient in using two-way radios and computer applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required; bilingual candidates are preferred.
  • Willingness to engage in professional development and training requirements.
  • Flexibility with shift availability is necessary, as security operations run 24/7.
  • Prior experience in loss prevention or security is advantageous.
  • Completion of required site training within 30 days of hire is expected.
  • Additional job-related tasks may be assigned as needed.
  • Successful completion of CPO certification within the first six months is required (training costs covered by Paladin).
