Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Bench Technician to join our team at StandardAero. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating hand tools, reading blueprints, and assembling machined parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Hand Tools and Equipment: Set up and operate a variety of hand tools, including hammers, files, dremels, vibro-peen tools, drills, presses, low temperature ovens, pullers, and hand grinders, to perform various operations such as blending, chasing threads, deburring, angle checking, coldworking metals, masking, and braze application.
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints: Read and interpret specification manuals, blueprints, templates, and layouts for product specifications, including tooling instructions, tolerances, and dimensions.
  • Assemble Machined Metal Parts: Fit and assemble machined metal parts and sub-assemblies using hand and power tools.
  • Verify Product Dimensions: Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Inspect Quality and Accuracy: Inspect quality and accuracy of run work.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement of cell processes.
  • Cross Train and Support Production: Cross train in other complementary skills and seek endorsement for those skills as needed to support production requirements.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints, working knowledge of precision measuring instruments, and working knowledge of related company instructions, company processes, rework process instructions, original equipment manufacturer manuals, and MSDS labels.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day, regularly required to sit for prolonged periods.
  • Education and Experience: The typical minimum level of education to perform this job competently is equivalent to high school completion or equivalent to high school completion with specialized training.
