Role Overview:
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), your primary responsibility will be to deliver personal care and assistance to patients who require both short-term and ongoing support. You will engage with patients, their families, and caregivers across various settings, including home care, community support, and health facilities. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care, in alignment with the values and vision of Alberta Health Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal assistance and support with daily living activities.
- Offer comfort and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
- Maintain a safe and respectful environment for all patients.
Required Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must have active status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Additionally, you should provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrollment from the Directory. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program, who have completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum, will also be considered if they are in their first year of practical nursing or second year of a baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program. Proof of qualification must be provided.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in rural long-term care settings is highly regarded.
