Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Power HVAC Mechanic to join our team at United Rentals of Canada, Inc. As a key member of our Power/HVAC division, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on a wide range of equipment, including air conditioners, air cooled chillers, diesel engines, dehumidifiers, and electrical distribution equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, gas, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment, utilizing a high degree of independent judgment.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment in the rental fleet without supervision, utilizing schematics and diagnostic programs.
  • Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer-owned equipment, maintaining a clean and professional service vehicle.
  • Assist in the training of lower-level technicians as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of work performed, including electronic documentation of work orders.
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • 5+ years of experience repairing and maintaining equipment and tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and field-repair a broad range of equipment, including air conditioners, air cooled chillers, diesel engines, pump ends, desiccant dehumidifiers, and electrical distribution equipment.
  • Advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
  • Advanced diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic, and other systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of equipment.
  • Must own tools applicable to the position.
  • Ability to lead others.
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
