Position Title: Accounting Assistant
Location: Dartmouth, NS
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, starting at 8:00 am.
Compensation: $20.00/hr

Overview

Advantage Personnel is actively seeking an Accounting Assistant for our esteemed client in Dartmouth. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct complex general ledger reconciliations;
  2. Perform bank reconciliations;
  3. Utilize Sage 50 accounting software;
  4. Assist in the preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements, along with other necessary financial documentation;
  5. Handle monthly accounts receivable and accounts payable tasks for the finance department, including journal entry postings to the general ledger and responsibilities related to the monthly accounting cycle;
  6. Prepare monthly reconciliation reports;
  7. Maintain internal control measures for all vendor and customer accounts concerning invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer collections;
  8. Execute additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  4. Professional demeanor with a courteous attitude;
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word;
  6. Experience with Sage 50 software;

  8. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines;
  9. Completion of a Business Administration Program with a focus on accounting;
  10. 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
