Senior Optical Engineer

The Senior Optical Engineer will play a key role in the development of innovative sensing solutions for the food and agriculture sector. This individual will contribute to the design of optical sensors based on free-space optical elements, ensuring manufacturability and seamless integration with our products.

Savormetrics is a leader in rapid testing technology and Artificial Intelligence, providing novel, predictive metrics to help food companies make informed business decisions. Our sensing devices detect quality characteristics, and our software applications make them smarter and easier to use.

We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in optics and a passion for innovation. The ideal candidate will have a Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a technical equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in free-space and integrated optical systems design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop optical sensors based on free-space optical elements
  • Collaborate with the Director, Product Development to ensure designed optical elements work well in our products
  • Work closely with customers to incorporate usability needs and ensure seamless adoption
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in optics and AI

Requirements:

  • Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or technical equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in free-space and integrated optical systems design
  • Strong understanding and experience with Zeemax, Code V, or equivalent software
  • Experience with Matlab and microfabrication processes
