Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Optical Sales Associate to join our team at Pearle Vision. As an Optical Sales Associate, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience, fostering customer retention, and promoting outstanding associate/doctor satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service
- Greet customers promptly and provide exceptional service to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Determine the reason for the customer's visit and explain how to shop at Pearle Vision.
- Perform work accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and customer volume.
- Product Knowledge
- Educate customers on Pearle Vision products, guarantees, and services, including eyewear care tips, complimentary adjustments, and follow-up services.
- Under guidance and instruction from an Optician, handle tasks such as taking and recording measurements and adjusting or fitting eyewear carefully and correctly.
- Sales and Merchandising
- Assist customers in selecting frames and lenses that are best suited for their lifestyle, RX, and price needs.
- Suggest improvements and recommend solutions to problems.
- Take time to help customers and answer questions, giving them a better understanding of available options.
- Operational Excellence
- Operate the software system by inputting customer and prescription information with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Accurately operate the cashier terminal, collecting proper payment following company security procedures and retaining proper change for a variety of transactions.
- Store Appearance and Maintenance
- Take pride in the appearance of the store and show initiative in keeping the displays and inventory clean, attractive, and organized.
Requirements
- Education
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Experience
- Previous optical and retail experience.
- Skills
- Strong communicator and listener to customers and associates.
- Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Awareness of current fashion trends.
- Strong interpersonal skills (friendly, caring, patient).
- Sales skills.
- Knowledge of store merchandise.
- Familiarity with cash register, computers, and calculators.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior sales training helpful.
