The Technology Center (TC) is responsible for designing and engineering cutting-edge inspection robots and the software that analyzes pipeline inspection data. We are embarking on a project to create a portal for sharing inspection data. Recently, our software development team transitioned to the Azure DevOps platform, and we aim to migrate our existing application publishing and data release processes to the Azure environment. To ensure the success of this initiative, we are seeking an Azure Solutions Architect to craft the technical architecture for our Azure-based portal. The selected candidate will also adapt our tools and data storage solutions to this new environment.
This position is a contract role for the duration of the project. Both incorporated and T4 contractors are encouraged to apply.
Project Duration- 3-6 months
- Design the technical architecture for sharing inspection data through an Azure web portal.
- Integrate existing data storage functionalities (C++ library with API calls) into the Azure architecture.
- Incorporate various third-party components for data manipulation and visualization.
- Utilize the latest Azure components and established software frameworks for the solution.
- Ensure a secure environment to protect sensitive customer data.
- Select and implement an authentication and authorization mechanism for data access.
- Create a proof of concept that includes all necessary elements for the web portal (GUI design + available use cases).
- Share Azure expertise to ensure the implementation can be understood, maintained, and extended post-assignment.
- BSc/MSc degree in Software Engineering or a related field, or a proven track record in Azure technical architecture.
- Proficiency in C++ is essential for backend data handling applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- 5-10 years of experience in the software industry, particularly in technical roles or with technical-oriented software products.
- Familiarity with design and requirements methodologies (UML, Use cases, etc.).
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools, such as Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, is required.
- Experience in deploying cloud applications within the Azure environment is necessary.
- Scrum certification (e.g., PSM-1) is a plus.
