Electronics Assembler

Onsite Requirement:
Position based in Markham, ON
Role Overview:
This role involves the assembly of various electronic and mechanical devices, ensuring timely product shipment. The ideal candidate will interpret assembly instructions, integrate components, and utilize tools effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble electrical units and subassemblies, including cabinets, modules, and cable harnesses, according to engineering specifications.
- Construct wire harnesses and cables, ensuring proper crimping, routing, and securing.
- Assemble electrical devices and wire control panels using engineering schematics and operational guidelines.
- Retrieve materials from inventory to ensure timely availability for production tasks.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels in work-in-progress (WIP) by conducting material transactions efficiently.
- Prepare material kits and associated documentation for production lines, communicating any potential risks to management.
- Follow assembly instructions and adhere to process requirements.
- Package products for shipment, conduct out-of-box audits, and transport materials from production areas to storage.
- Manage inventory transfers within the Oracle ERP system.
- Systematically tag, segregate, and relocate defective materials to designated areas.
- Issue Quality Escape Reports (QER) as necessary.
- Engage in lean initiatives such as 5S and workstation optimization.
- Uphold 5S standards within the workspace.
- Ensure the use of anti-static measures to protect sensitive components.
- Work safely and complete necessary training for safe task execution.
- Report any workplace incidents or injuries promptly.
- Fulfill responsibilities in alignment with the company's Quality Assurance and Workmanship standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve production challenges.
Qualifications:
- Adaptability to work in various areas of the production floor.
- Experience in wiring, soldering, cabling, and mechanical assembly.
- Proficient in reading assembly drawings and schematics.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills for effective communication across departments.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including bending and stretching.
- Basic computer proficiency is required.
- Capability to lift up to 35 lbs as part of daily responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Oracle/SAP systems and material management processes.
Remote Work:
This position does not allow for remote work.
