Position Overview

The Culinary Service Associate plays a vital role in the patient and retail dining environment. Reporting to the Food Service Supervisor, this position is responsible for the preparation and delivery of meals and supplies to patients, residents, staff, and visitors. Additionally, the role includes maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of dining trays, equipment, and workspaces, while adhering to safe food handling practices.

Key Responsibilities

The distribution of time spent on the following responsibilities may vary based on the specific location and role:

  • Patient Meal Coordination: Engage with patients to gather meal preferences and input selections into the system.
  • Food Preparation and Service: Prepare, portion, and serve meals for patients and visitors, including special dietary needs.
  • Meal Delivery: Ensure timely delivery of meals and collection of used trays.
  • Food Safety Compliance: Participate in the receiving and storage of supplies, ensuring adherence to FIFO practices and confirming dietary requirements.
  • Menu Management: Generate and manage menus and related documentation.
  • Sanitation Duties: Maintain cleanliness of work areas, ensuring compliance with hygiene standards.
Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, with relevant experience.
  • Basic proficiency in English and Mathematics.
  • Experience in a restaurant or customer service environment is advantageous.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team to meet organizational objectives.
  • Strong communication skills, demonstrating respect and civility.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may include lifting and extensive standing.
Work Schedule

This is a permanent part-time position, requiring a commitment of 37.5 hours bi-weekly.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage for this position is $20.02. Successful candidates may have access to a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and retirement plans.
