ROLE OVERVIEW

In this position, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy of financial data sourced from investment accounting systems through detailed analyses and reconciliations. Your responsibilities will include preparing consolidated financial statements related to investments, along with comprehensive internal management reports. Additionally, you will calculate the net asset value of the Funds and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of departmental processes.

As an Investment Accounting Analyst, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the accuracy of financial data within the accounting system and reconciling investment transaction entries with the general ledger.
  • Calculating the Funds' net asset value on a monthly basis.
  • Preparing monthly consolidated financial statements related to investments.
  • Drafting investment-related notes for quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Generating various financial management reports on a weekly, monthly, or ad-hoc basis.
  • Ensuring consistency in reporting across financial statements, management reports, and information provided to investment teams.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining processes and controls essential for the preparation of consolidated financial statements.
  • Keeping documentation of departmental procedures up to date.
  • Assisting with departmental initiatives and special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, with a focus on Accounting or Finance.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) or in the process of obtaining one is preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in investment accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of financial instruments, including derivatives and net asset value calculations.
  • Experience in preparing investment-related financial statements is an asset.
  • Familiarity with SimCorp Dimension (SCD) is a plus.
  • Proficient in Excel and quick to learn new systems.
  • Demonstrated accountability and a results-driven mindset.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a thorough approach to research, analysis, and documentation.
  • Proactive attitude and curiosity to conduct in-depth, fact-based research.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a high-performance environment.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
