Position Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Director or Vice President of Marketing who will report directly to the President. The compensation package will be aligned with the candidate's experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish strategic marketing objectives that align with the organization's growth ambitions.
- Design and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy to achieve these objectives.
- Enhance brand visibility and foster customer engagement through diverse platforms.
- Develop content strategies tailored to business goals and target demographics across all channels (digital, print, social).
- Engage in the annual strategic planning process of the company.
- Formulate strategies to strengthen brand positioning and identify opportunities for brand expansion.
- Implement an ecommerce strategy aimed at boosting online sales and optimizing website performance.
- Generate brand awareness and devise innovative promotional strategies for partner and private label products.
- Oversee brand management to ensure uniform application and usage.
- Manage ecommerce data and workflows to facilitate a seamless shopping experience.
- Collaborate with web and software developers to maintain site integrity in line with company strategy.
- Set the annual marketing budget and oversee marketing expenditures.
- Lead and develop a high-performing marketing team to deliver impactful campaigns.
- Supervise daily operations of the marketing department, approving all creative outputs.
- Work closely with product segment management to enhance growth through relevant marketing tools.
- Coordinate with shared services departments to support marketing initiatives.
- Partner with external entities to uncover new avenues for improved marketing effectiveness.
- Stay informed on industry trends and customer strategic priorities.
- Utilize measurable metrics to assess campaign performance.
- Prepare regular internal reports and presentations regarding marketing strategies and metrics.
- Conduct market research and analysis to pinpoint challenges and growth opportunities.
- Represent the organization as a brand ambassador at industry events and promotional activities.
- Support and guide the organization of effective marketing events.
- Consistently embody Spicers' core principles and uphold the leadership pledge.
- Perform additional duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
- 8-10 years of marketing experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing effective marketing strategies.
- Extensive experience in brand management.
- Strong grasp of ecommerce strategies, digital marketing, content creation, and multi-channel marketing.
- Proven ability to manage and optimize marketing budgets efficiently.
- Experience collaborating with web developers to enhance online presence.
- Exceptional leadership capabilities with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
- Proficient in analyzing marketing metrics and translating data into actionable insights.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Industry knowledge of paper manufacturing and distribution is an asset.
- Dependable and reliable with a self-directed approach.
- Able to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Working Conditions:
- Prolonged computer use may lead to strain on wrists, eyes, and back.
- Work environment is a busy, open office space.
- Position may require long hours of focus, necessitating attention to detail.
- Role may involve meeting deadlines, which can induce stress.
- Occasional weekend and/or evening work may be required.
