The Fraud and Risk Analytics team plays a pivotal role in maintaining trust and safety within the Lyft marketplace. This team is essential in safeguarding our customers and supporting sustainable growth for the company. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and enhance comprehensive strategies for fraud detection, including real-time rules and models, in collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Support cross-functional teams in developing critical dashboards and tools to assess the effectiveness of payment processes and operations.
  • Work closely with Product Management, Data Science, Engineering, and Operations to address identity and integrity issues.
  • Effectively communicate complex information, both verbally and in writing, to various audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Deliver enhancements to fraud detection and mitigation efforts, prioritizing development in partnership with product management and engineering.
  • Report on overall status, key business metrics, and provide solution recommendations to senior management.
  • Establish business cases and projected ROI for fraud-related investments.
  • Create robust, user-friendly policies that balance user experience with fraud loss prevention.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in payment, marketplaces, e-commerce, retail, digital media, or financial services, with a preference for fraud or identity experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL, SAS, R, Python, or similar programming languages for data querying and analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve issues proactively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex analyses clearly.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects and collaborating effectively across departments.
  • Ability to conduct in-depth analysis with a structured problem-solving approach.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including time management and meeting deadlines.
