Job Summary:

The Electrical Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, test, and troubleshoot electrical and electronic equipment; adhere to CSA C for electrical installations and modifications.
  • Review Work Order assignments daily, execute, and document daily activities within our ERP Maintenance system.
  • Participate in daily department meetings.
  • Perform PM and PdM tasks as scheduled; generate Work Orders for items identified as requiring attention outside the PM or PdM.
  • Review PM tasks and verify that they address failure modes; recommend changes as part of continuous improvement.
  • Follow Equipment Stores' procedures for obtaining parts.
  • Contact suppliers as appropriate for technical support and clarification for procurement of parts as required.
  • Maintain a clean personal workspace and work areas; participate in weekly shop cleaning schedule.
  • Maintain assigned tools, equipment, and instruments in good working order.
  • Maintain up-to-date building and equipment documentation in Maintenance Library as well as electronically.
  • Communicate with incoming shift regarding current issues to ensure proper hand-off.
  • Perform other duties as scheduled.

Requirements:

  • Certified Industrial Electrician Red Seal ticket.

Preferred:

  • Experience working as an Industrial Electrician within a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, email, computer use, and electronic Work Order systems.
