Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Security Officer to join our team at Great Canadian Entertainment. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in protecting our assets, ensuring the safety of our guests and team members, and upholding the highest standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and document internal and external violations, unsafe conditions, and potential hazards, preparing written and electronic statements as needed.
- Enforce restricted access by unauthorized persons and observe transactions, slot drops, and chip fills.
- Perform identification checks on guests under 30 and refer disputes to the Security Supervisor.
- Conduct regular patrols of the interior and exterior of the property and escort guests and team members as required.
- Attend to first aid incidents and assist the Security Supervisor with enrolling guests in the Self-Exclusion program.
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and other statutory requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education an asset.
- Two years of experience working with the public in a service role or in the service industry.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution capabilities.
- Previous experience or training in security an asset.
- Valid class driver's license and current First Aid/CPR certification required.
- Ability to successfully obtain a Responsible Beverage certification.
- Computer literacy in MS Office and ability to organize data with great accuracy.
Work Environment
The Security Officer will work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. Exposure to some conflict, distress, and noise is expected. The role requires a flexible schedule that adapts to business needs, including non-traditional work hours, including evening or weekend shifts.
Compliance and Certification
Permanent employment may be dependent upon the authorization and continued approval of the Provincial Regulatory Bodies. New employees will complete an application and begin work after regulatory approval is granted. Existing team members will reapply as necessary, and continuing work will be dependent upon successful reapplication.
