Key Responsibilities
- Research and evaluate new technologies to support the ongoing development of our system solutions and influence our technological strategy;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project software requirements and identify suitable tools, technologies, and standards;
- Propose and recommend high-level software architecture solutions to senior management, including estimates and cost-benefit analyses;
- Design secure, robust, reliable, resilient, and scalable software systems, components, and interfaces (on-prem or cloud-based);
- Communicate software system designs to development teams and provide direct support throughout the implementation process;
- Mentor and coach development teams on new tools, technologies, and standards;
- Perform various other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in Computer Science or a related field;
- 7+ years of progressive software development experience;
- Proven experience in designing and developing on-premises and cloud solutions (AWS, Azure);
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban);
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Mandatory Requirements
- Fluency in English (verbal and written);
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required;
- Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) clearance.
