Position Overview
As a Lead Financial Analyst within our Business Analytics division, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of analytical solutions, primarily utilizing IBM's Planning Analytics suite. Your role will involve crafting dashboards, reports, and various analytical tools that facilitate financial reporting, planning, budgeting, forecasting, and the stewardship of results for Finance management and operational teams. Your Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with finance and business operations to define requirements for solutions aimed at enhancing budgeting and forecasting processes, reporting, and dashboards.
  • Expertise in designing and developing solutions that can optimize or transform business processes.
  • Knowledge of best practices in the development of analytical solutions.
  • Experience in providing user support throughout the analytics lifecycle, from training to implementation and ongoing assistance.
  • Act as a mentor to junior staff regarding technology and business processes.

Your Skills
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships and collaborate with operations and senior leadership.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with both business and technical teams.
  • Strong prioritization and time management abilities.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Your Experience
  • Post-secondary education in finance, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field (degree preferred, but a diploma combined with relevant experience will be considered).
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in finance, business analysis, data analysis, or data visualization roles.
  • Experience with IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), Oracle Essbase (Smart View), or other multi-dimensional financial planning technologies is essential.
  • Familiarity with IBM Cognos Analytics, Microsoft PowerBI, or other Business Intelligence/Data Visualization tools is required.
  • Knowledge of Business Analytics methodologies and best practices is advantageous.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification at Green or Black Belt level (or equivalent certification) is a plus.
