Job Title: Assistant Grounds Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Grounds Manager to join our team at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of our outdoor spaces, ensuring they are safe, clean, and visually appealing for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of the groundskeeping team to ensure efficient and effective maintenance of outdoor spaces.
  • Develop and implement plans for landscaping, horticulture, and snow removal to maintain the hotel's high standards.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of grounds-related activities.
  • Manage and maintain a fleet of heavy equipment, including plow trucks, skid steers, and front-end loaders.
  • Develop and implement safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Coordinate seasonal events, such as the Ice Magic carving competition and Pond Hockey Tournament, while ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations.
  • Manage budgets and expenses related to grounds maintenance and equipment.
  • Develop and implement strategies for environmental sustainability and reduce the hotel's carbon footprint.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or a related field.
  • Valid Alberta driver's license with a clean abstract.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance.
