Position Overview
Mercer Celgar is in search of a proactive and detail-oriented individual to become a part of our Engineering team as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and update the criticality of equipment using our established methodologies.
- Conduct audits and develop maintenance strategies to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.
- Plan, oversee, and execute inspections and major maintenance projects for assets.
- Manage and execute maintenance related to business capital expenditure projects.
- Act as the subject matter expert for equipment, supporting production, maintenance, and project teams.
- Investigate equipment malfunctions and propose effective solutions.
- Contribute to long-term and annual business planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with a Canadian Engineering Association.
- Several years of experience in maintenance, with a strong understanding of best practices.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate activities across various organizational levels.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, including NBIC, API, and ASME.
