Job Summary

Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a skilled Environmental Aide to join our team. As a member of our healthcare team, you will provide environmental and unit support in patient care areas, ensuring a clean and safe environment for our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide environmental support in patient care areas, including cleaning and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Work closely with staff on the unit to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Use domestic and commercial cleaning equipment and work with cleaning agents and germicides.
  • Stand for long periods, repetitive reaching, repetitive bending, pushing and lifting using good body mechanics.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Previous cleaning or healthcare experience an asset.
  • Ability to work closely with staff on the unit, including ability to accept assignments, delegation, requests and follow instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and other members of the healthcare team, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to set and adjust priorities and organize work in response to unit needs.
