Job Summary

Bouchier is seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team at the CNRL Horizon Camp Maintenance site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and repair electrical wire, cable, and equipment within camp dormitories and other structures.
  • Follow procedures as defined in the CEC (Canadian Electrical Code).
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Use a variety of tools and equipment, including power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment.
  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings and electrical code specifications.
  • Cut, thread, bend, assemble, and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings.
  • Position, maintain, and install distribution and control equipment.
  • Install and insulate self-regulating heat trace and test with multimeter and megohmmeter.
  • Lockout electrical systems for all trades.
  • Train and mentor apprentices as required.
Requirements
  • Valid Alberta Journeyman Electrician Ticket or Red Seal Certification.
  • 4+ years' experience within Residential or Commercial Construction Projects.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge with computers: Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and Customer Service skills.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of conditions.
  • Safety conscious attitude.
  • Ability to get along well with others on a work team.
  • CSTS and OSSA Regional Orientation or OSSA BSO (Basic Safety Orientation before December 31, 2018) or CSO (Common Safety Orientation after January 1, 2019).
