Rate of Pay: $37.051 per hour

THIS EXPRESSION OF INTEREST IS OPEN TO INTERNAL UNIFOR-HOSPITAL PART-TIME AND CASUAL REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSES
Balmoral Centre operates as a 25-bed, medically-supervised withdrawal management stabilization facility dedicated to providing a secure environment for individuals aged 16 and older to undergo withdrawal and detoxification from alcohol and other substances. The facility is available 24/7 throughout the year, with voluntary admissions scheduled as beds become available.

At Balmoral Centre, we offer medically supported withdrawal management services, including:

  • Comprehensive support and care during the acute phases of intoxication to facilitate safe withdrawal from substances
  • Administration of medications, including Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT)
  • Stabilization, educational initiatives, and group programming
  • Referrals and connections to medical, counseling, addiction treatment, harm reduction, and mental health services
  • Collaborative discharge planning with community partners and services
  • 24/7 availability of Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) on-site
  • Nurse Practitioner services available seven days a week
  • Access to Indigenous cultural services
No prior addictions-specific training is required, as comprehensive on-site training will be provided during the onboarding process. The RPN will coordinate the nursing services necessary for individuals dealing with substance use disorders. This role involves collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team, which includes medical professionals (physicians/Nurse Practitioners, nurses) and non-medical staff (Addictions and Crisis Workers, Discharge Planner, Admin) to conduct client assessments and implement tailored treatment plans.
