Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Endoscope Cleaning Technician to join our team at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. As an Endoscope Cleaning Technician, you will be responsible for manually cleaning, reprocessing, and maintaining endoscopes and operating automated endoscope washing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manual cleaning and brushing of heavily soiled instruments and equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Perform all work in a safe and proper manner in accordance with hospital principles and protocols and all legislative requirements
  • Code, regulations, and standards including WHMIS, OH&S, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Secondary School or equivalent
  • Completion of an Endoscopy Technician Certification Program is required (or willing to obtain)
  • Experience in flexible endoscope (upper endoscopies and colonoscopies) an asset
  • Experience with medical terminology an asset
  • Knowledge of routine infection control practices
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency (windows and internet)
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and as a team member
  • Positive work and attendance record is essential
  • Exceptional performance and attendance required
  • Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
  • Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired
