About This Opportunity

Black & McDonald Limited is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our Southern Ontario Facilities Maintenance & Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC equipment within the Toronto Pearson International Airport and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform monthly preventative maintenance tasks as directed by the supervisor, including shift tours, log readings, start-up and shut-down procedures, filter changing, belt changing, minor repairs, major fan and AHU maintenance, compressor maintenance, and responding to emergency trouble calls.
  • Support other staff members in their tasks and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Hold a valid Certificate of Qualification for the Province of Ontario and have passed any examination required by the Local 787 Examining Board.
  • Experience in the maintenance of complex mechanical building systems, including heating and cooling systems and their distribution networks.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions both written and verbal.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times with fellow employees and customers.
  • Maintain clear and courteous phone etiquette.
