Job Title: Floor Covering Installer

We are seeking a skilled Floor Covering Installer to join our team at School District #23 (Central Okanagan). As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and integrity of our school floors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform inspections of existing floors to identify potential hazards and recommend repairs or replacements.
  • Install, repair, and maintain various types of flooring, including carpets, hardwood, and tile.
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including power tools and lifts, to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, including time cards, work orders, and inspection reports.
  • Collaborate with other facilities staff to ensure seamless execution of projects and maintenance tasks.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • B.C. or Interprovincial Trade Certificate in the floor covering trade.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications for flooring installations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff and stakeholders.
  • Valid B.C. Driver's License and Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of experience as a journeyman-level floor covering installer, including experience with flooring maintenance and repair.
  • First Aid Level 2 Certificate.
