Job Title: Registered Nurse - Correctional Health Services

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Ford Mountain Correctional Centre. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct trauma-informed healthcare services to clients with complex physical, psychiatric, and substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct trauma-informed healthcare services to clients, including physical, substance use, and psychiatric assessments, and administer prescribed treatments and medications according to protocols.
  • Observe, monitor, evaluate, and assess client progress, symptoms, and behavioral changes, and perform a variety of healthcare interventions using nursing skills and medical equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, clients, family, and community to identify and resolve health issues, cultural and language barriers, and coordinate and integrate care.
  • Maintain accurate computerized and paper records in accordance with established procedures and policies.
Requirements:
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals.
  • Two (2) years' recent experience providing trauma-informed acute or community health nursing care/services to patients with complex physical, psychiatric, and substance use disorders.
  • Successful completion of Occupational First Aid II (OFA II) or Occupational First Aid III (OFA III) techniques.
