Position Overview

P Gat Trucking is seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. This role involves transporting goods and materials across various distances while ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • Experience: We provide training for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with professionalism.
  • Efficiently load and unload cargo.
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks for transportation.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on the truck.
  • Communicate effectively with central dispatch regarding logistics.
  • Maintain accurate records of cargo, service hours, distance traveled, and fuel usage.
Documentation Skills
  • Ability to complete accident or incident reports.
  • Maintain a detailed driver logbook.
  • Prepare inspection reports for pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip evaluations.
Equipment and Transportation
  • Experience with tractor-trailer units is preferred.
  • Willingness to engage in long-haul and provincial/territorial travel.
Work Environment
  • Attention to detail is crucial in this role.
  • Physical capability to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Demonstrated personal attributes such as judgment, organization, reliability, and teamwork.
