Your Opportunity:

Inpatient Surgery at Alberta Health Services is seeking newly graduated Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our team. This temporary part-time position is part of our Transitional Graduate Nurse Recruitment Program (TGNRP) and is open to those who have graduated with a Baccalaureate of Nursing within the past 12 months. To be eligible, applicants must be registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) and have not already obtained a full-time or part-time position with AHS.

Job Summary:

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide a wide range of nursing services to patients, families, and communities. You will work under the guidance of a healthcare team member and provide input in nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. Your role will involve promoting, maintaining, or restoring health, preventing illness, injury, and disability, or supporting a peaceful death.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing services to patients, families, and communities
  • Work under the guidance of a healthcare team member
  • Contribute to nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
  • Support health promotion and maintenance
  • Provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
  • Graduate with a Baccalaureate of Nursing within the last 12 months from an approved school of nursing
  • Not currently in a full-time or part-time position with AHS
What We Offer:

In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS offers a Fort McMurray Allowance of up to $12,480 per year. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
