Cultural Diversity Specialist

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Cultural Diversity Specialist to join our team. As a Cultural Diversity Specialist, you will work with culturally diverse youth and families to provide support and guidance on substance use prevention.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement culturally appropriate workshops and presentations to support youth and families.
- Partner with community partners to identify trends, needs, and priorities in substance use prevention.
- Coordinate and plan outreach methods to strengthen parent/family awareness, knowledge, and skills in substance use prevention.
- Work with prevention initiatives in schools, communities, and staff to identify trends, needs, and priorities.
- Bachelor's Degree in a Social Services discipline from a recognized program.
- Two (2) years recent related experience providing substance use-related support to culturally diverse youth and families.
- Valid BC Driver's License.
- Thorough knowledge in child/youth care, youth development, and behavior management as it relates to addiction and substance use.
- Knowledge of cultural diversity in youth and families, and culturally safe ways of engaging.
- Knowledge of community development, adult education, and health promotion practices.
