We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist to join our team at Provincial Laboratory Medicine Services (PLMS). As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including hematology, coagulation, and chemistry tests.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily routine duties in both Lab and X-ray departments, including quality control and safety procedures.
- Run patient samples and reports, and receive and process blood components and products.
- Transport and store blood components and products, and quarantine and discard expired or contaminated products.
- Perform inpatient and outpatient phlebotomies, and participate in internal and external quality assurance programs.
- Provide excellent customer service and communication skills, and work effectively in a team environment.
- Graduation from a recognized Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology Program.
- Eligible for registration with a provincial licensing body.
- Completion of the NAIT TRAM 101 Course, or equivalent experience or training in transfusion medicine.
- Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory procedures and technical competence to perform tests used in the assigned section of the laboratory.
- Basic awareness of research process and ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
