Job Overview:

Techo-Bloc Group is seeking a Financial Operations Analyst to join our team. Reporting to the divisional controller, you will serve as the go-to expert for analyzing and managing the accounting operations within your assigned divisions.

Daily Responsibilities:

Your day as a Financial Operations Analyst begins with reviewing financial statements for your designated area, preparing insights for upper management. Collaborating with the Controller, you will develop the annual budget while analyzing data and forecasting financial trends. You will actively participate in monthly meetings with Production Managers to review expenditures, staffing, and upcoming capital investments aimed at enhancing operational efficiency. Additionally, you will gain insights from the owners during weekly strategy meetings. A key focus will be assisting the Controller with the AX 365 migration, ensuring a smooth transition of business processes. As your day concludes, you will respond to inquiries regarding fleet expenses in preparation for future equipment purchases.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting the controller in preparing and analyzing financial statements and accompanying notes;
  • Tracking and reconciling fixed assets;
  • Actively participating in month-end and year-end processes with external auditors;
  • Managing transfer pricing for intercompany transactions;
  • Monitoring prepaid expenses, current receivables, and monthly installments;
  • Reconciling various ledgers (inventory, accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales);
  • Conducting foreign exchange reassessments for payables, receivables, and bank accounts in multiple currencies;
  • Validating payroll discrepancies;
  • Allocating shared costs among related entities;
  • Calculating and tracking monthly provisions.

Financial Analysis Duties:

  • Assisting the controller in preparing the annual budget in collaboration with departmental leaders;
  • Calculating bonus distributions based on departmental objectives;
  • Supporting the controller in various financial analyses (inventory, sales, cost of goods sold, margins, insurance, process improvements);
  • Participating in monthly meetings with Operations Managers;
  • Collaborating with the controller on the AX 365 migration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration with a focus on accounting;
  • Possession of an accounting designation (CPA);
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience;
  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous;
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector is a plus;
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French, both spoken and written;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics AX is beneficial;
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Excellent organizational abilities and adherence to deadlines;
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.
