About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Fired Up Grill Food and Drink. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food preparation and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Assist in preparing, heating, and finishing simple food items to meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen environment, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.
  • Supply Management: Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas, ensuring that all ingredients are properly labeled and stored.
  • Waste Management: Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and ensure that all waste is disposed of in a responsible and environmentally friendly manner.
  • Housekeeping: Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Vegetable and Fruit Preparation: Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit to meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Fast-Paced Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Heavy Lifting: Lift and move heavy loads, up to 23 kg (50 lbs), as required.
  • Physical Demands: Perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods and repetitive tasks.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain attention to detail in all aspects of your work, including food preparation, cleaning, and supply management.

Requirements

  • Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, with flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
