Alexa Daily Essentials is seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to drive innovation in large language model technologies and enhance the Alexa experience. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for researching and implementing cutting-edge solutions to improve Alexa's language understanding, knowledge representation, and generation capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and deploy novel ML/LLM solutions to improve Alexa's performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand customer needs and drive science solutions from conception to customer delivery
- Research and develop LLM innovations, and lead paper publications
- Code proficiently in Python and Java, with a focus on optimizing systems for high performance at scale
- Innovate and develop science and engineering solutions that optimize team operations and increase team effectiveness

Requirements

PhD or Master's degree with 4+ years of quantitative field research experience
- Experience investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to business problems and products
- Experience analyzing both experimental and observational data sets

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of R, MATLAB, or similar scripting languages
- Experience with agile development

The base salary for this position ranges from $126,300/year up to $210,900/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
