Job Summary

The Long Term Care Specialist will play a key role in promoting excellence in nursing and advancing clinical care within our organization. This position will focus on the development and implementation of clinical guidelines, protocols, and best practices to improve patient outcomes and quality of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols to improve patient outcomes and quality of care
  • Lead clinical team consultation and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to drive system change and improvement
  • Conduct audits and evaluations to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies for implementation
  • Provide education and training to staff on best practices and clinical guidelines
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse education program
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • Minimum 3 years of full-time clinical experience in continuing care, focusing on long term care
  • Previous CCHSS auditor experience
  • Previous LTC educator experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of Master's in Nursing
  • PROSCI Change Management certificate
  • Alberta Health Services Improvement Way (AIW) Green Belt certification
  • Canadian Gerontological Nursing certificate (GPNC)
