The work environment may involve exposure to dusty conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Load and unload cargo efficiently.
- Monitor vehicle condition and conduct inspections on tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other essential equipment.
- Execute emergency roadside repairs as necessary.
- Perform thorough pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections while overseeing all vehicle operations.
- Communicate effectively with central dispatch to relay pertinent information.
- Maintain accurate records of cargo details, service hours, distance traveled, and fuel usage.
- Ensure the safety and security of cargo through proper tarping techniques.
Familiarity with accident or incident reporting is essential.
Safety and Security Requirements- Basic security clearance is necessary.
- A driving record check (abstract) will be conducted.
- Attention to detail is crucial.
- Ability to handle heavy loads and manage a large workload.
- This position is physically demanding and involves repetitive tasks.
- Flexibility and sound judgment are valued.
