As a key member of the Cybersecurity team, the Global Cybersecurity Advisor will collaborate with stakeholders across various business sectors to advocate for the cybersecurity priorities of the organization during project engagements. The following are the primary responsibilities:
Cultivating a comprehensive understanding of the business unit, technologies, clientele, partnerships, systems, processes, and data. Partnering with legal, compliance, and IT teams to foster a productive relationship that enhances the effectiveness of the security program. Serving as a liaison for the implementation of information security policies, proposals, and risk management assessments. Identifying areas of non-compliance and facilitating the development and deployment of improvement solutions. Overseeing Service Level Management for cybersecurity and assurance.Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Cybersecurity Strategy : Formulate, execute, and continuously enhance the Cybersecurity strategy and policies to align with business goals and emerging threats. Gather insights from various business lines to influence the Chief Information Security Officer's strategy and support the development of security tools and services. Risk Assessment : Coordinate and conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential security threats and weaknesses. Security Governance : Advocate for effective security governance practices to ensure that security measures align with business objectives and industry best practices. Compliance and Regulations : Stay informed about cybersecurity laws and regulations, ensuring adherence to relevant standards and industry-specific requirements. Incident Response Planning : Act as the primary contact for business lines during cyber incidents and coordinate responses by collaborating with necessary teams. Security Audits and Assessments : Oversee internal and external security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing. Vendor Risk Management : Assess the security practices of third-party vendors to ensure compliance with security standards. Security Technology Selection : Evaluate and recommend technologies and solutions to safeguard information assets. Security Research and Analysis : Remain updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and trends to proactively adapt security measures. Security Awareness and Culture : Foster a robust security culture throughout the organization and engage employees at all levels to promote a security-conscious environment. Cybersecurity Incident Tabletop Exercises : Organize exercises to test incident response and recovery procedures. Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment of security measures with business objectives and provide guidance on security-related decisions. Continuous Improvement : Regularly assess and enhance the organization's cybersecurity posture by adopting industry best practices.Additional Accountabilities:
Engage in industry conferences and forums to represent the organization's Cybersecurity program. Participate in innovation projects and other unplanned activities. Mentor team members by providing guidance and education.Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum of 5 years in a Cybersecurity role, preferably within Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) or Cybersecurity Project Management. Familiarity with industry compliance standards and frameworks such as NIST and CMMC. Ability to manage multiple priorities with diverse stakeholders. Strong communication and presentation skills. Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, or CRISC. Previous IT experience is advantageous. Experience in Defence and Security is beneficial.Position Type
