About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Credit Manager to join our National Client Group, Western Canada team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and growing an existing portfolio of relationships, working closely with financial advisors, private equity sponsors, and internal banking partners to perform due diligence on prospective opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Portfolio Management: Support the National Client Group, Western Canada team in managing and growing an existing portfolio of relationships, including bilateral and syndicated transactions.
  2. Credit Analysis: Perform high-quality credit analysis, deal structuring, underwriting, and documentation review/finalization of existing and new lending opportunities/mandates.
  3. Relationship Management: Work closely with Relationship Managers to negotiate and recommend credit terms & conditions with existing and prospective clients.
  4. Transaction Management: Complete financial transaction and borrower risk rating models, and work closely with Credit Risk Management to authorize and close transactions in accordance with the Bank's risk guidelines.
  5. Collaboration: Work in close collaboration with teammates to ensure that client and collateral files are updated in a timely manner, and serve as a strong resource within the team to assist in developing the competencies of junior team members.
Requirements
  1. Education: Hold a Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in corporate or upper mid-market commercial banking.
  3. Skills: Strong knowledge of credit underwriting, loan structuring, financial statement analysis, financial model and capital structure assessment, and legal documentation review & negotiation.
  4. Technical Skills: Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) used in the creation of presentations, confidential information memoranda, and other written documents.
  5. Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to form and present well-reasoned recommendations.
