Key Responsibilities
  • Installation: Apply built-up roofing systems utilizing materials like asphalt-saturated felts and hot asphalt with gravel.
  • Single-Ply Systems: Install waterproof sheet materials, including modified plastics and elastomeric compositions.
  • Repairs: Conduct repairs or replacements of shingles and shakes on sloped roofs, as well as single-ply roofing systems.
  • Waterproofing: Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or masonry surfaces.
  • Metal Flashings: Install sheet metal flashings as required.
  • Scaffolding: Erect and install scaffolding and other working platforms to ensure safety and efficiency.
Work Environment
  • Work at heights in various locations.
  • Exposure to noisy and potentially dangerous conditions.
  • Work outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
Qualifications
  • Education: No formal degree required.
  • Experience: 2 to less than 3 years in roofing.
  • Training: Completion of working at heights training is mandatory.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Capable of lifting heavy loads, up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
Personal Attributes
  • Must be a team player with a strong work ethic.
Work Conditions
  • Fast-paced environment with varying hours, typically between 32 to 44 hours per week.
