Position Overview: Clinical Interns collaborate with a dedicated healthcare team, operating under the direct or indirect guidance of a designated registered healthcare professional.

Contractual Engagement: Interns will be engaged on a contractual basis, working part-time hours with the potential to reach full-time hours. The scheduling of these hours will be tailored to the needs of the unit and may encompass day, evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate under the supervision of the assigned registered healthcare professional, adhering to organizational policies and professional standards.
  • Assist with patient mobility tasks, including lifting, turning, transferring, transporting, and ambulating, in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Document all patient care activities in compliance with hospital policies.
  • Support the procurement and organization of supplies within the units.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must be enrolled in one of the following programs:

  • Nursing students in any year of a CNO-approved Baccalaureate Nursing (BScN or BN) or Practical Nursing (PN) program.
  • Occupational therapy Master's degree students in any year of an accredited training program.
  • Physiotherapy Master's degree students in any year of an accredited training program.
  • Respiratory Therapy students in their 2nd or final year of an accredited training program.
  • Undergraduate medical students in their final year of an accredited medical education program.

Skills and Competencies: Candidates should demonstrate:

  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Internet applications.
  • Commitment to ongoing temporary part-time employment throughout the academic year.

Availability: Candidates must be flexible and willing to work various shifts, including weekends, statutory holidays, and overnight shifts as required.
