Job Summary

What’s the opportunity?

We are seeking a passionate software engineer eager to engage with cutting-edge machine learning technology and tackle complex challenges. As a Machine Learning Software Engineer Co-op, you will participate in projects from inception to completion, encompassing data preparation, the application of machine learning techniques, and front-end development.

At Borealis AI, you will collaborate with top-tier researchers in machine learning, access extensive datasets, and utilize advanced computational resources to drive development in areas such as reinforcement learning, unsupervised learning, and computer vision.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Developing software solutions powered by machine learning to address significant challenges;
  • Working alongside research and business teams to identify optimal solutions;
  • Enhancing algorithms and prototype solutions for effective implementation;
  • Transforming prototypes into fully operational, refined solutions for internal or external use;
  • Documenting project details, design choices, and functionalities thoroughly;
  • Managing large datasets through extraction, transformation, and loading using distributed computing technologies.
You’re our ideal candidate if you:
  • Are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field;
  • Possess some experience in software development, including internships or co-op positions;
  • Are proficient in one or more major programming languages such as C++, C#, Java, or Python;
  • Have familiarity with Unix command line and bash scripting;
  • Have experience with Deep Learning frameworks like TensorFlow, Theano, Keras, or PyTorch;
  • Are knowledgeable about distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, graph databases).
