Principal Business Systems Analyst – Role Overview
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for strategizing, overseeing, and guiding the delivery of comprehensive system requirements alongside technical and functional specifications that adhere to established standards and frameworks.
- You will provide technical guidance and collaborate closely with dynamic business and technology partners, project teams, and stakeholders to plan, elicit, analyze, document, communicate, and manage intricate functional specifications.
Engaging work is driven by meaningful performance and career development discussions with your supervisor. Here are some of the key responsibilities: - Collaborate with technology partners (e.g., Solution Designers and Architects) to investigate and assess current system capabilities and define potential technology solutions and recommendations.
- Articulate, document, and convert business requirements into detailed functional specifications, considering non-functional requirements.
- Support testing teams in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected outcomes for product, performance, user acceptance, and operational acceptance testing.
- Contribute to project management tasks such as scoping and estimating project efforts, identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies, communicating activity status, and escalating potential issues.
- Engage in quality management reviews, including designs, prototypes, and other requirement-related deliverables.
- Work closely with stakeholders to identify solutions, evaluate impacts on existing processes and systems, and determine integration management strategies.
- Provide analytical and process-related support and insights.
- Adhere to existing processes and standards, including requirements management and project management practices, technology delivery, and business technology architecture, escalating issues as necessary.
- Develop expertise in your area, stay updated on technology trends and advancements, and cultivate knowledge in banking services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools and techniques, and relevant business domains.
- Collaborate with vendors to assist in business case development (aligned with technology requirements and guidelines), including benefits identification, RFI/RFP, and service level agreements.
- Mentor new or less experienced colleagues and serve as a resource throughout the requirements management lifecycle.
Principal Business Systems Analyst – Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- Strong commitment to applying advanced to expert knowledge of business technology delivery practices and standards, including design, development, testing, and project management.
- Advanced to expert understanding of system analysis processes and techniques, as well as system components, functionalities, interfaces, data flows, and business rules.
- Ability to work autonomously as the senior or lead system analyst and provide guidance to the team.
- Experience and comfort level acting as a subject matter expert and consultant, with the ability to manipulate complex data sets.
Principal Business Systems Analyst – Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Capital Markets.
- Experience in the Banking Sector.
