Transportation Operations Manager

About the Role:

The Driver Manager is a key position within our organization, responsible for providing coaching, assistance, and solutions to problems in order to maximize the productivity of our drivers. This role will be based out of our London, ON office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and support driver retention initiatives
  • Maintain fair and equitable distribution of work
  • Communicate dispatch information as required
  • Monitor driver performance/miles and reefer requirements
  • Monitor and respond to driver satellite messages
  • Support the development of required driver skills, such as Customs, Hazmat, Hours of Service, Policy, Regulations, and Satellites
  • Form solutions regarding any driver concerns
  • Assist with driver inquiries, including payroll and miles
  • Update customer websites relative to the position/shift
  • Perform check sheet audits as required by customers
  • Communicate and problem-solve with customers as required

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of truckload dispatch considered an asset
  • ACE and Customs/border crossing experience
  • TMW experience an asset
  • Transportation experience considered an asset
  • Solid understanding of North American geography
  • Intermediate-level computer skills and proficient keyboarding
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong self-discipline and initiative
  • Creative and effective problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
