Job Overview

We are seeking a Retirement and Investment Advisor.

Reporting to the Associate Manager of Investment and Retirement Solutions, the Retirement and Investment Advisor will assist our Group Customer plan members who are nearing retirement or have transitioned from their employer, with the aim of retaining their assets at Canada Life. If you possess exceptional listening and communication skills, a comprehensive understanding of retirement savings and income products, as well as pension regulations, and are eager to work in a collaborative and competitive setting while striving to exceed customer expectations, this could be a fulfilling opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide an outstanding customer experience in every interaction Drive business growth by proactively reaching out to terminated, retired, and retiring members Aim to retain members within group plans at Canada Life Assess and interpret each member's circumstances, clarify their investment and retirement choices, offer solutions, and guide them through the intricate transition to retirement income Identify opportunities for asset consolidation and suggest complementary products as necessary Conduct individual meetings virtually or face-to-face with plan members approaching retirement Engage in member and client meetings or finalist presentations Collaborate with the Investment & Retirement Solutions team to deliver a premier customer experience

Qualifications:

At least 7 years of experience in the Canadian insurance and/or financial sector, with a particular focus on retirement products and services Post-secondary education or equivalent professional experience LLQP life license required CFP or PFP designation is advantageous; additional relevant industry certifications or courses such as CIM, CLU, or Canadian Securities Course are beneficial Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Strong customer-first mentality Excellent listening abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills In-depth knowledge of pension, savings, investment, and insurance products and planning concepts Highly self-sufficient and disciplined, requiring minimal supervision Analytical mindset with attention to detail Willingness and ability to learn swiftly, adapt to changes, modify behaviors, and contribute to innovative solutions
