About the Role
Brookfield Asset Management is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Data Management & Compliance Analyst to join our growing Middle Office Investment Operations team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring data integrity across various systems, including compliance monitoring and reporting requirements for Investment Management Agreements (IMAs).
Your Responsibilities
- Data Stewardship: Manage all aspects of our enterprise database, ensuring data accuracy and access compliance across different systems. Maintain security master data at a central source, verifying its alignment with the investment team's views.
- Data Validation & Monitoring: Continuously validate data between accounting, risk, and market data systems. Track ratings changes on underlying investments from various sources.
- Compliance Expertise: Conduct ongoing compliance monitoring and reporting for all IMAs. Prepare comprehensive treaty-level reporting packages. Contribute to the development of robust procedures and best practices for accurate and timely position monitoring across all accounts.
- Operational Excellence: Participate in testing and implementing operational enhancements and special projects. Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes and controls. Provide exceptional service when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaboration & Support: Work closely with Portfolio Management, Risk Management teams, custodians, counterparties, and outsourcing providers to ensure a seamless product life cycle. Support internal and external audit activities. Engage in working groups focused on industry and regulatory initiatives and best practices. Coordinate the onboarding of new accounts, investment types, brokers, and counterparties.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a financial services environment. CFA/CAIA/FRM designation is preferred.
- Experience within the insurance sector and knowledge of insurance requirements is highly advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field is required.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, SQL, VBA is an asset.
- Proven ability to manage large datasets with varying access levels.
- Strong understanding of complex investment products (FX, Futures, Options, Credit and Interest Rate Derivatives, Repos and Bond Forwards), along with P&L and cash analysis on these products.
- Thorough knowledge of Alternative Investments including Private Loans, Term Loans, LPs, and Third-Party Funds.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, fostering strong collaborative relationships at all levels.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities effectively to meet internal and external deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous process improvement and a positive team attitude.
