Work schedules will include both day and night shifts, rotating between 07:00 to 15:30, 07:15 to 15:45, 09:30 to 18:00, 10:00 to 18:30, and 22:45 to 07:15.
About the Department:
The Operating Room at Royal Inland Hospital features 9 surgical theatres, providing a wide range of services including General Surgery, Trauma, Orthopedic Surgery, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Urology, and more.
Registered Nurses in the OR are expected to be versatile, providing care across all surgical specialties.As a vital member of the Operating Room team, you will be responsible for both circulating and scrubbing duties, ensuring comprehensive patient care throughout the surgical process.
Orientation to the Operating Room is customized based on the new staff member's experience, typically lasting around 12 weeks, with additional time allocated to each specialty as needed.
We have dedicated Resource Nurses in each specialty to provide ongoing support and education for all staff members.Weekly in-service training sessions are conducted to enhance skills and knowledge.
Leadership within the department includes the Manager of Clinical Operations, an Operating Room Educator, and an Equipment Coordinator, all committed to supporting staff development.Resources for patient care, education, and research are readily available. The Operating Room department has recently transitioned to a modern facility.
