Enrolment Services Assistant

The British Columbia Institute of Technology is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Registration Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Student Information and Enrolment Services Department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Process class cancellations and course changes, ensuring accurate and timely updates to student records.
- Develop and implement processes and procedures to enhance departmental efficiencies, improving student experience and staff productivity.
- Respond to inquiries from students, faculty, and staff, providing accurate and up-to-date information on courses, programs, and services.
- Register, deregister, and maintain student courses, ensuring compliance with BCIT policies and procedures.
- Assist in the training and development of employees, providing guidance on processes and procedures for dealing with internal and external customers.
- Prepare regular Cognos reporting to monitor and follow up on departmental requirements and standards.
- Work with Program Assistants in the Schools to verify and update course information on Banner.
- Collect and maintain relevant statistical information for the department, including Symposium statistics.
- Receive and process all email authorizations, course changes, and cancellations.
- Oversee the Records Management of the department, ensuring accurate and secure storage of student records.
- Grade 12 plus completion of up to one year post-secondary training in Business or Computer Systems, which includes computerized office and business applications.
- Two years general work experience in a Registrar's office plus one year's working experience in a similar position which includes lead-hand responsibilities.
- Extensive experience in an automated student registration system, including working knowledge of Banner and an automated telephone system.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Minimum of 60 wpm typing speed.
