The IT Security Analyst plays a pivotal role in safeguarding an organization's digital assets by identifying and mitigating potential security threats. This position requires a deep understanding of information security principles and practices.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Maintain Security Frameworks: Create, update, and enforce information security policies, guidelines, and standards to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Threat and Risk Analysis: Conduct regular security threat and risk analysis to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Security Monitoring and Reporting: Evaluate, document, and follow up on anomalies in information security frameworks, providing regular reports to stakeholders.
- Stay Ahead of Security Threats: Continuously monitor threats and new trends in information security to ensure the organization remains secure.
- Network Security: Perform port scans to establish a baseline, define and create policy around unauthorized or outdated software.
- Vulnerability Management: Create vulnerability reports, implement patches as required, and ensure antivirus software and policies are up to date.
- System Operations and Security: Monitor systems operations and manage network security to prevent unauthorized access.
- Experience in Vulnerability and Incident Management: Proven experience in managing vulnerability and security incident management.
- Information Security Certifications: Recognized information security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, SABSA) are an asset.
- Network Security Knowledge: Good knowledge of network security principles and infrastructures.
- Security Implementations: Proficient in the setup of security implementations (ACL, Port Security).
- Vulnerability Scanning Tools: Previous experience with vulnerability scanning tools.
- Information Systems Framework: Excellent understanding of information systems framework.
- Multi-Platform Systems: Proven experience in supporting multi-platform systems and related applications.
- Linux and Windows Server Experience: Experience with Linux Servers and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) is an asset.
- Port Security and Scanning Software/Hardware: Experience with port security and scanning software/hardware.
- Patch Management: Experience with patch management.
- Antivirus/Anti-Spyware Management: Experience with antivirus/anti-spyware management.
- Systems Security Management: Experience with systems security management.
- IP and TCP/IP Knowledge: Good understanding of IP and TCP/IP.
- SNMP Experience: Experience with Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is an asset.
This is a 6-month contract role located in Toronto, ON.
